We are facing a real health crisis at the moment.
The NHS is under a huge amount of strain, doctors are overworked and there is just not enough help to go around for those who need it.
Despite living in a time where medicine and technology have advanced further than ever before, we are still becoming sicker and sicker as a nation with diseases such as type 2 diabetes on the increase.
We Are Suffering With More And More Symptoms
In clinical practice I am seeing people with a growing list of symptoms and health complaints. In the last 6 months I have seen people presenting with the followng issues;
- Type 2 Diabetes
- High Cholesterol
- Inability to lose weight
- Acid Reflux
- Tiredness
- Mood fluctuations
- Anxiety
- Chronic pain
- Headaches
The symptoms I’ve just listed above were all from one patient and that’s just scratching the surface for many people.
The Challenges Of Getting Healthy
I sympathise with most of my patients and their struggles of getting healthier. It’s almost like they are pushing water up a hill sometimes.
Not only are they confused about what to do or where to begin, but their doctor hasn’t been able to help them.
The only help most people get is a diagnosis and a collection of medications.
The problem with this approach though is that the symptoms are being suppressed rather than finding and treating the cause.
It’s Easy To Get Confused
If you are suffering with a whole list of symptoms it can often be confusing knowing where to begin, especially if you have been passed from doctor to doctor and still not been given a clear explanation of your problem or a plan to resolve the issues.
If you then take your learning into your own hands and turn to Dr Google for answers, what you find can at best just be more confusing or other times be scary.
Diagnosis by Google can make you think you have more serious problems than you actually have.
Learning what to do about your health on your own can also boggle the brain as there are almost an unlimited number of approaches, protocols or supplements that you could begin with.
But you know what, in my experience, the best approach is the simplest approach.
The Foundation Of Good Health
Our bodies want to be healthy.
If you give your body the right environment, it will do it’s best to return to a state of health, or as close to it as possible.
If you want to make a tree grow strong and healthy you will give it healthy soil.
If you want your body to be strong and healthy you need to feed it nutritious food.
If your digestive system is working optimally you will be able to digest and absorb all the right nutrients to feed the body and you will also be able to excrete your body’s waste.
My Approach To Getting You Healthier
As I mentioned above, digestion is hugely important.
I have patients come to see me where their first question is about what supplements are best to take. The answer initially is”none”.
We work on getting the simple things right first like their nutrition, sleep habits, movement routines or stress management.
Quite often we will initially work on just one of these things, keeping everything super simple, easy to understand and easy to cope with.
Once one or two of these things are better we will start working internally, looking at their digestive function and working on this to make digestion more efficient.
What I find is that even if a patient doesn’t report any symptoms, putting them on a digestive plan will usually improve many other symptoms in a matter of weeks.
The more complex a patient’s set of symptoms are the more they need a simple approach.
These people are often experiencing a lot of stress and anxiety while trying to deal with their issues and so the last thing they need is a complicated plan which will only stress them out more.
So this is why we start with just the very basics. It helps people feel like they are in control and that they can handle the task at hand.
Quite often this approach will see a noticeable improvement in symptoms alone.
How Long Does It Take To Become Healthy Again?
This is a super difficult question to answer as every person is different.
For some people they may respond quickly and notice significan improvements within 4 to 6 weeks. However in most cases, it can take 6 months to a few years.
It really depends on how long someone has had a problem for, the extent and severity of the problem, whether the root cause is figured out and also how much work the patient puts into their programme.
Some conditions of course may never be resolved, but more often than not these people may still benefit from following a plan and as a result will feel better in many areas of their health.

If you’re reading this then you must have something that you feel can be improved in your health.
I understand that it can be confusing but with the right guidance you can make some huge improvements.
If you have some chronic health issues then by simply making a few changes to your diet, lifestyle, sleep patterns, stress or movement habits can lead to some pretty significant results.
