Health
What Is Health and How Can You Be Healthy?
Health is one of those things that we often take for granted until it is no longer there.
The word health is a bit of an umbrella term and there is no specific way of obtaining it or maintaining it, mainly because it is as unique to us as our own fingerprints.
The classical definition of our optimal health according to the World Health Organisation is
“A state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”
I would suggest that health is not an all or nothing state where we either are or we aren’t healthy, but instead I would suggest health is something we are constantly trying to achieve and improve upon. [Read more…] about What Is Health and How Can You Be Healthy?
Should You Always Trust Your Doctor?
The other week a guy came in to see me about his foot pain.
He limped in, barely able to walk, all the way to the treatment room.
The pain had been going on for around 10 days.
He’d been to see his GP, who told him it was fine and gave the usual advice;
“Go home, rest it, ice it, and take some anti-inflammatories”.
So when the pain wasn’t getting any better he came to see me.

But the thing is he’s not dead and is stuck on Mars [Read more…] about Important Lessons From “The Martian”
I’m Sorry, I Just Don’t Have Time

It thankfully doesn’t happen often.
A uni tutor once said to me;
“If someone isn’t getting better it’s one of three things;
– The therapy is wrong for the patient
– The practitioner
– The patient”
And you know what, this is so true.
There are times in practice when us practitioners can see what the problem is.
We can treat the problem to some extent, but you know what? [Read more…] about I’m Sorry, I Just Don’t Have Time
Low On Energy
Recently I met someone who was complaining of suffering with constant low energy.
Do you know what she did? Well instead of thinking about diet or lifestyle the first thing she did was to try some supplements to help give her energy!
The thing is they were just some standard multivitamin supplements with added Gingseng.
Supposing they do help at all, which I doubt they will, they will only be masking the real reason why this lady was tired in the first place.
